WITHIN THE REALM WELCOMES FIRST SPONSOR – J AND J PROPERTY SERVICES

January 5, 2022

As teased in our last post, we are welcoming a sponsor to our show. J and J Property Services, owned by listener Joe Burchett, provide installation of swimming pool safety equipment. Their products feature Katch A Kid brand fences, nets and covers, a brand with a 50 year track record of providing peace of mind to pool owners with kids and pets.

“We appreciate the support J and J Property Services has shown us,” said WTR host Steve Garrett. “We do this because we love it, but it’s nice to have others believe in our show, too.”

I’ve been around pools my whole life, my kids were swimmers, so pool safety is important to me. It’s fitting that our first sponsor would be an outfit that provides such an excellent product with great service.”

J and J Property Services can be reached at jandjpoolsafety@gmail.com for consultations. Remember to use promo code WITHIN for a 10% discount on your order.

Be sure to check the Katchakid website for the outstanding products they provide. Customers in the J and J Property Services service area can use our promo code for the discount on their order.

We look forward to our partnership with J and J Property Services.

A Tree Too Far

My Great Aunt proudly displayed an Aluminum Christmas Tree in her window when that was a thing, much to the chagrin of the more traditionally inclined members of the family. I thought it was great and missed the great silvery monstrosity once the fad fell out of favor. Although aluminum trees are making a comeback, you might be surprised what killed the trend in the first place!

A Watchful Eye and a little good luck: The Will Rogers Statue

/

During his life, Will Rogers provided a voice for the common man, carrying their message to the halls of power and to the White House. Now, eight decades after his passing, Will keeps a vigilant watch on Congress through the eyes of his statue in the Capital’s Statuary Hall. He even bestows good luck on those willing to break some rules.

Johnnie And George: One Of His Boys

One hundred years ago or so, George W. Carver enlisted college boys from the South to assist him in spreading his message, not just about farming innovations but also about racial reconciliation. Carver called them “his boys.” I interview the Author of a new book about the correspondence between the Wizard of Tuskegee and one of his boys, Johnnie Pickle.

The Big Scare At Beaver Gap

There is a lonely stretch of road in our neck of the woods, the scariest spot in the County, called Beaver Gap. The superstitions of both the Native Americans and the hillbillies of the area fueled the stories of less than friendly spirits out there in the woods. This is the story of me , a station wagon full of classmates and the Big Scare at Beaver Gap. https://withintherealm.libsyn.com/the-big-scare-at-beaver-gap
